LYRICS

When you hear ol’ soul singing
In the mist voice echoing
(We are falling to pieces)
Shadow on the frozen ground
With the wind her howling sound
Aa, aa, aa – Aa, aa, aa

When you hear these bells ringing
The mighty chimes of forgiving
(We are falling to pieces)
Never thought I let you go
Our universe just needs to know
where the sky is ending

WE ARE – turning into solitaries
ONE DAY – searching for the shelter
in the rain alone and in the dark –
Is future world just run forever?

WE ARE – waiting for a new tomorrow
ONE DAY – gazing at the sky and numbering
the days below the clouds –
Is future world just grey forever?

WE ARE – looking back the life together
ONE DAY – pondering the beauty of the past,
the years, the oath in ears that: “We are here
to love together”

WE ARE – standing for a new tomorrow
ONE DAY – diving through the clouds and
wondering the days beyond the stars when
we’ll be there to sing together

Ooo, ooo, ooo…We are falling to pieces

Radio Silence

Scene of the suffering, silence screams, horizon crying
Slow motion walk away in despair
I’m wondering: ”Where you are?”

MY LOVE!
THIS IS!
NIGHTMARE!

I’m searching and searching for a hidden place
where he lay dying
Finding the truth awhile,
Then I hear a shadow talking to me:
“Be prepared not scared - he’s far beyond”

Through the bright Halo
He flies under worlds’ frontier
Cross the sky island
Never seen in the dreams
Through the deep oceans
He dives under worlds’ frontier
Journey into the Skyend
blue spheres everywhere

Waiting for you call me
to arrive the unknown world
where we can stop this
Radio Silence

A hymn from the deep
Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa
Howling of the dark ocean calls your name
Whirlwind on shoreline
Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa
Ghostlike surface flowing in silence

Skyend - where is the Skyend?
Far away land, time, your side
Skyend - where is the Skyend?

Wide open sea, free haven, home in your eyes
Ancient violin
Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa

Stories on the strings under bleeding bow
Sirens in the wind
Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa
Flying part of the crew to the unknown

Skyend - where is the Skyend?
Far away land, time, your side
Skyend - where is the Skyend?
Wide open sea, free haven, home in your eyes

Long ago I lost my soul
when sky fell down and someone stole my shadow
Since day one I walked alone
Through nightmare times
while wondered why tomorrow’s
heart has been drowned so deep and far away,
somewhere out of the world we know,
world we knew and world we used to share ‘til…

Skyend - here is the Skyend
Wide open sea, free haven, home in our eyes

Skyend - here is the Skyend
Far away land, time, our side
Skyend - here is the Skyend
Wide open sea, free haven, home in our eyes

The story behind the song:

”Pieces” was written during the second Skyend sessions at the end of the fall 2015. There’s a very basic chord progression all the way through so the key word behind the song is definitely simplicity. Universal things, the wideness of musical expression and kind of cosmic and misty shades were in the spotlight behind the sound of whole Skyend release. “Pieces” provides definitely these elements while the band and the orchestra paints with such a big brush. In vocal sessions we focused on finding some serious pop elements, different worlds of harmony and various choir arrangements that came some sort of red line with every Skyend songs...

The story behind the song:

RADIO SILENCE

Controlled chaos and heavy-duty orchestral madness with some soft and flowing shades build the backbone of ”Radio Silence”. This song was written during the first weekend of December after that one intensive writing session. “Radio Silence” was the last one made for Skyend. We wanted to capture some more a raw kind of sound after two or three softer songs already done. There were some massive orchestral things, choir strikes and for example hypnotic double bass drumming already in the demo version of the song but “Radio Silence” was definitely the song that transformed the most during the final recordings to be honest...

The story behind the song:

Skyend was the very first song we wrote for the new EP during that one weekend in last October. The end was definitely beginning in this case because the song Skyend started the whole thinking process concerning the themes and shades of whole release. A drum fill as a song starter, folkish intro melody, harmony guitar riffing of the verse parts, choir arrangements and multi-layered vocals were those crucial things since day one. Elisa Järvelä’s amazing work with her ancient violin was that one great idea during the post-production. Even though there’re these soft and playful feelings already in the demo version of the song that longing and melancholic side of the Skyend was somehow the red line for everything. The phrase “where is the Skyend?” brought up the idea of that abstract adventure through the deep unknown...
